It is time for the Cheltenham Science Festival again. It has been on all week, but the weekend is really the best time to visit with all the extra events/tents (many of them free) and a new addition this year: Cheltenham Editions . Bite Sized 15 minute talks from key speakers for just £2. Fantastic.

If you are in the area: worth a visit. Even if you are not in the immediate area: still worth a visit.

Website, information and events programme found here.

Buy a Bike #somethingfortheweekend June 9, 2012

I have made the decision to buy a bike. Great for keeping active, handy to use around town and something to do on the weekend. Not to mention Bristol is very bike friendly.

If you don’t own a bike why don’t you own one? I suggest you go out and treat yourself to one this weekend. Plenty of places do “refurbished” second hand bikes, or there is always the police auctions and you get great bikes at affordable prices.

If you are lucky enough to work at an office that offers a bike to work scheme – seriously look into this. It makes the bike (and all the accessories) much more affordable.

So this weekend, buy a bike. (or at least windowshop) and check whether you have a bike to work scheme listed on your benefits.

It will keep you occupied for weekends to come (and help keep you fit and healthy).

Bank Holiday Weekend #somethingfortheweekend June 2, 2012

I am not going to tell you to do anything this weekend. because (1) you will already have plans and will be trying to fit it all into this extra long four day weekend and (2) the best way to start a project is to relax and prepare yourself mentally.

My personal goal for the weekend is to relax. I have been very busy and I have been feeling very tired these past couple of weeks. For once I would like to return to work less tired than when I left.

I really enjoyed this post from TIme Management Ninja – and what Craig said really rang true. I do – on a regular basis run myself down on a bank holiday, in fact last year I was ill most bank holidays. So I did not get to enjoy them at all.

So I will simply have a normal relaxing weekend, with some blogging, some tv or a film, some shopping, a nice meal, grocery shopping and maybe as part of joining in the jubilee celebrations – a BBQ.

You should do the same (If it is not too late to save you).
